It is not recommended that unfinished furniture be painted with a solid color paint. Staining or clear wood protector is acceptable and encouraged but painting should be avoided.

This Weathercraft Adirondack Chair is made of furniture quality #1 grade premium lumber. All of which is pressure treated with an environmental friendly preservative called ACQ (Alkaline Copper Quaternary). Pressure treating furniture this way is a process that's approved by the EPA and endorsed by several environmental groups.

All wood is kiln re-dried before being cut into parts and constructed into furniture. This entire process is what makes the Weathercraft Adirondack Chair more suitable for outdoor conditions and being resistant to wood rot, decay and destructive insects.
